So you’ve created the website, written a few blog posts, posted in a few facebook groups but you’re still wondering how in the world do you get more people to your website?
We have all seen those people out there that claim to have the secret formula to skyrocket your page views in .2 seconds, but you and I both know it comes at a cost (that’ll be $99 please!)… and if we do decide to invest in their service or product, we may get more traffic, but the visitors aren’t our ideal clients. #thestruggleisreal
Here’s the thing .. You can have thousands of people coming to your website, but if a good percentage of them are not your ideal client, then they mean nothing. We love numbers and are told the bigger the better.. but, just keep in mind quality over quantity.
With that in mind, how can you drive good quality traffic to your website?
Let’s dive in.
When you can leverage social media to gain traffic to your website, you can create a fantastic referral of traffic. Use it to your advantage as you are gaining people who already have a good general idea of who you are.
You can easily:
> write shout out posts when you launch a new blog post
> talk about your product/offerings and direct them to your website
> create a free offer that directs them to your website to claim via an email opt-in (double win)
> Reference testimonials on your website
> Create a instagram highlight board showing off your products and services
You can point out anything on your website and shout it out on your social media. Be creative and link your social media posts with a call-to-action.
Dive into Facebook groups and you will find lots of opportunities for guest blogging quite often. Focus on guest blogging for people who have a similar audience that you would like to target. Find those who have a bit bigger of an audience than you do across the board. (Taking in consideration their social media leverage!)
Taking the time to guest blog is going to help you establish your credibility while also moving you in the right direction with gaining backlinks to your website!
The more you put yourself out there, the more you are going to be able to make yourself and your website more visible. Hence, driving more traffic in return.
In today’s business world, podcasts seem to be ALL the rage! It is a great tool to get you and your business out there and direct them to your website.
If you are an expert in something, say for example – email marketing, post in a facebook group and ask if anyone needs podcast guests and let them know what you are prepared to speak on.
You could also create a free guide or resource for that episode and reference in the podcast episode asking the listeners to visit your website to download it for free. This drives more people to your site and also gives you an opportunity to serve them through someone else’s platform (FOR FREE!)
Oh the holy grail of site traffic! Pinterest is hands down the best tool to getting your ideal clients to your website.
It is a FREE tool and basically a virtual search engine. Say you are a wedding photographer, your ideal client would most likely be brides to be, right?
You can create a board on Pinterest called Bridal Portraits and upload photos of your work. Then when that bride searches anything related to wedding or bridal photography, your board/photos will show up on her feed. If she likes what she sees, she will most likely click directly to your website.
Last, but not least, you have SEO! I firmly believe that while this will take the longest to see results from, it is most rewarding. Taking the time to set up SEO will allow you to have an excellent base to move forward from. It takes time, dedication, and a bit of knowledge, but every little effort counts.
I highly recommend the Yoast plugin to get you started. You can also use sites such as keyword Tool .This free website allows you to search different keywords to let you know how popular they are.
